You have such a fabulous Adventure Playground for children! What are the rules around it?
Thanks – the kids love it! And we love kids to be safe while they’re with us. To make sure this is the case we require little ones under 12 to please be supervised by a caregiver at all times. The playground closes at dusk, so we ask that guests please don’t congregate in this area after this time.
Can we use the numerous BBQs that are all around the campground?
You sure can. The BBQs here are free for you to use as you wish. All we ask is that you don’t move the bbqs from their locations, and please be respectful of other guests by not leaving meat, fat or other rubbish on our beautiful grounds. Other than that, they’re yours to enjoy!
What time is checkout time and can we have a late checkout?
Checkout time is by 10am each morning. We are a busy Resort with guests coming and going, so unfortunately it is not often possible for us to arrange late checkout times. However, please ask our friendly ladies at Reception and we will do our best to meet your needs if we possibly can.
What age do you classify as children?
Those aged 1 to 14 years of age are classified as children here at Papamoa Beach Resort. Your child stays free of charge if they are under 1 year of age. Alternatively, when staying in Accommodation, if you have a tot that will be sleeping in their own portacot (that you bring along) they can also stay free of charge.
Oooh - those peddle bikes look fun! Can I have a hire one and take it for a spin?
Yes, they’re awesome – and they’re not just for the kids! The Fun-Bikes cost from $10 per hour (for a 1 to 2 seater) up to to $20 an hour (for the orange 4 seater beast). You will need to fill out an Indemnity Form before being able to hire the bikes, and they can only be ridden here on the sprawling Resort grounds (not offsite). Please be careful not to speed – for your safety and the safety of our other guests.
I have a friend that is coming to visit me for a few hours while I’m staying at the Resort. Can they drive in and park outside of my unit?
That’s great that you have friends coming to visit - please show them around so they can see how beautiful our Resort is. Unfortunately they won’t be able to drive into the grounds, as we only have space for one allocated car park per unit or site. However, there is plenty of parking just outside of the Resort gates that they are welcome to. Please ask your visitors to kindly pop into Reception when they arrive, so that we can give them directions and keep track of who is onsite. We also charge a small visitors fee over our peak season, all of which assists us in providing donations to a range of local charities including Papamoa Beach Surf Life Saving Club.

We're in a rush and just need to leave the Resort - is it ok for us to just quickly tailgate our friends out of the security gate this one time as we're in a rush?
Unfortunately this will result in the Security Gate system malfunctioning, which will result in other guests being held up as we reset the system when you try to re-enter. Each vehicle is given it's very own personal pin number upon arrival. This monitors whether the vehicle is inside or outside of the gates at all times. These CANNOT be shared amongst vehicles as it will malfunction, so please do not share your pin with others or tail gate.

Why do you require to keep a copy of my credit card on file or a $100 cash security bond when I check-in?
Upon check-in you will be required to provide Reception with a Security Bond. This will take the form of either leaving your credit card number on file with us, or providing a $100 cash bond that is refundable upon check-out. We cannot see your Credit Card details, we merely hold them on file on the off-chance that we need to cover any costs incurred due to damage and/or extra cleaning required to Resort property. You will be required to sign a form agreeing to this upon check-in.
